A street by street guide to the fresco and facade paintings in the Garmisch-Partenkirchen district
Wildenau
The boutique Hotel Das Graseck is located at the foot of the Dreitorspitze of the Wetterstein Mountains, above the famous Partnach Gorge, surrounded by lush mountain meadows and isolated farms.
Due to its alpine location, the easiest way to reach the hotel is via the Graseckbahn cable car at Wildenau 3a.
This fully automated cable car was built in 1953 according to the plans of designer Karl Peter.
On the wall outside, Saint Christopher, the patron saint of travelers, first painted by Heinrich Bickel in 1953 and last restored in 2000 by D. Bauer.
